Who are you?
Olav, married, two kids and two bonus kids. I work as CEO in a global seafood company now, but have long experience from the furnishing and design business. Both from Stokke and as a former CEO of Norways largest furniture manufacturer, Ekornes.

Do you have an interest in design?
A bit. I like that my surroundings look proper and well thought-out. I appreciate functional design and think that the world has too many unnecessary products.

Do you have an object in your home that you value more than others?
A large plate and art-piece that my wife and I got for our wedding. It gives me good vibes in addition to being a beautiful piece of art.

What are your immediate thoughts when you hear the words Norwegian Design?
Simplicity, wood, and that it’s close to nature. And that it’s long lasting, which is important to me when choosing pieces for my home.

What is your relationship to Norwegian design?
That many think it’s Danish. Norwegian design is far too anonymous.
