Helle Blanket

Art form from the Stone Age
Designer Andreas Engesvik, who has studied archaeology and art history, is fascinated by petroglyphs as a part of a shared cultural history.

“There is something wild and beautiful about the petroglyphs. Our wish with this design is to recreate the lines found in the petroglyphs´ motives. Our design is an abstract interpretation of the crew often seen in drawings of ships” explains Andreas Engesvik.
Petroglyphs are found all over Norway and is an art form from the Stone Age. Art in wood and leather have vanished with time, but this rock art is still available for us.

The soft wool blanket stands in contrast to the natural surroundings of the petroglyphs, but the beautiful grey tones of the blanket gives associations to rocks and mountains. Like the petroglyphs, the Helle blanket has a woven 3D effect. The blanket is made in natural colored Norwegian wool, that feels solid and soft against your skin.
